Looking for a change of pace, perhaps a leisurely walk or a powerwalk with a beautiful setting. The Sunken Meadow State Park boardwalk is the answer. So whether you are walking leisurely while enjoying conversation with friends or powerwalking to burn some calories, you will enjoy the scenic views of the Long Island Sound year-round. The boardwalk is a 3/4 mile stretch with significant width so as to not feel encumbered, even when there is a heavy volume of people. If you don't like crowds avoid the late spring & especially the summer. Bring a mask! Respect social distancing! The park closes at sunset year-round. No pets year-round as well. From April - September there is a vehicle use fee (parking). No charge after Labor Day until April.
