If you are visiting near Medfield, Massachusetts, the Rocky Woods Reservation is a must hiking destination. Six miles (491 acres) of hiking trails featuring beautiful scenery: woods, wetlands & 5 ponds. You will also see evidence of beaver in the area, hawks, geese, ducks, swans, other birds, turtles, frogs, etc. Trails are mostly wide, with gradual elevation, occasionally rocky with roots but very passable. Trekking poles are optional depending on your age and ability. Good footwear is a must, hiking shoes or boots will provide solid footing. Hikers of all ages and abilities will enjoy picturesque hiking trails . Dogs may run off leash but watch out for the thick black mud along the shores of the lakes. Thoroughly enjoyable hiking trails that are clearly marked. However, like most hiking trails, it gets very busy on the weekends.
